UPDATE: The time for raffle entries is over! Thanks to EVERYONE who participated in this charity raffle - we were able to raise a total of $10,605 for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati and I could not be more proud! We will have the winners announced either today or tomorrow!

Every once in a while a worthy cause comes along that really makes you sit up and realize how lucky you are and how much more you could be doing for others. Recently some very close friends of ours gave birth to their first child, Gabriel Thomas Lawrence, who was born with Down Syndrome and other various heart and breathing complications. He is proving to be a very tough little boy, fighting his problems in and out of the Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

UPDATE: Tomorrow, October 1st, Gabe will go in for his very important heart surgery at just under 3 months old. Please keep him in your hearts and prayers and THANK YOU so much for your support of this charity!

This October the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati will be holding a charity walk to benefit local families affected by DS. We have a team of people helping to raise money and awareness of the event (you can see our page at http://tinyurl.com/teamcash). I decided that a great way to raise some money for this cause would be to offer up some great prizes to our readers in the form of a raffle. Here are the prizes being given away:

• Intel Core i7-870 Lynnfield processor (valued at $580)
• Gigabyte P55-UD6 motherboard (valued at $250)
• Intel Lynnfield heatsink (valued at $20)
• 4GB of DDR3-1333 Memory (valued at $80)

We are going to be giving away this awesome care package of PC hardware goodness to the lucky winner of our raffle! All it takes to enter is a donation of $5 to this very worthy charity and 100% of the money donated will obviously be straight to those families in need.

Here are the details:

1. Make a donation via PayPal. (All donations already sent through Paypal have been accepted.) Paypal is not being flexible for us so we are going to send you guys through the DSAGC website directly. All you have to do is go to http://tinyurl.com/teamcash and then click the link that says "Donate to Team Cash". There you will fill out the necessary information and the same rules apply below.
2. For every $5.00 that you donate, you will be entered in to the raffle 1 time. That means if you donate $5 you get one entry; $20 gets you four entries for the raffle.
3. Send me an email (rshrout@pcper.com) and let me know that you donated though the Official Team Cash page and leave me your full name so I can make sure to count your donation towards the raffle!
4. You can donate as many times as you want, and as large an amount as you want.
5. PC Perspective will be matching the donations up to $1000, so be generous!
6. The deadline to enter is 2:00pm on October 2nd - all donations into the DSAGC have to be in following day.
