UT is also a huge video memory hog, and that is why the 64MB GeForce cards have been shown to do so well on these tests. Our GeForce2 helds it ground above the standard GeForce at all resolutions, but as expected, didn’t see nearly the difference that Quake III saw.
The same deal occurs in 32-bit mode, except I was surprised to see the GeForce2 GTS fail the 1600×1200 resolution. With some tweaking, I should be able to get it working, but I was running out of time for the article.
