MSI K7T Pro KT133 Motherboard Review

This content was originally featured on Amdmb.com and has been converted to PC Perspective’s website. Some color changes and flaws may appear.

Over the past year, I have had the ability to test and critique several Microstar motherboards. Most recently was the K7 Pro motherboard, a Slot A designed motherboard for the original AMD Athlon processors. As a company, they have always rated higher than most in my book. They support is helpful and informative. They don’t merely push you off, or leave you on hold for hours at time. Their products have always been stable and performed as promised.

Their most recent advent into AMD’s market share of systems is the MSI K7T Pro. This motherboard is a Socket A board, supporting the Thunderbird and Duron Socket A processors. (To see a comparison of the performance of each of these two processors, visit our Duron v. Thunderbird article.) Most of you that are reading this know by now that this review is slightly out of date. I am not going to counter that feeling in any way, but having a delay in getting one of these motherboards to me, I thought a late review is better than no review. However, now the MSI K7T Pro motherboard must be pitted against a second coming of Socket A motherboards that it was not originally designed to. Without further ado, here are the motherboards specs:
