Test and Conclusion

The idle test shows the Alpha and Thermaltake heatsinks exactly the same.
The Alpha pulls out for a slight lead…
And again we are evenly matched.
So, what does this mean? Did the Thermaltake Super Orb “fail” the tests? Of course not. Since these fans are almost neck to neck, the Super Orb wins out in my book for the much lower cost. At last glance, you could find the Super Orb for around $15-18. When you can get the Alpha HSF for that cost, please let me know. 🙂
Thermaltake has a winner on their hands here. While it doesn’t outperform the top-notch Alpha branded Socket A cooler, it performs identically and for the lower price, the decision should be a no brainer. It looks sleek and smooth and performs as good as anyone could hope.
