All of these pretty graphs, and you don’t understand them?!? Well, let’s have an overall review. 1.)Mushkin beats out generic memory in CAS 3 mode. 2.) CAS Mushkin Rev2 PC133 Enhanced Memory - Memory 22 2 kicks the crap out of CAS 3 memory. 3.) Mushkin memory can be overclocked easily and has great performance enhancements because of it. Maybe that’s why they call it Enhanced Memory? 🙂

Seriously, this stick of RAM is by far the best I have had on my test bench, and now I am putting it inside my personal machine. I have yet to receive any OCZ Enhanced Memory or any Corsair PC150 memory, so I can’t state whether either of those out performs Mushkin brand. The price of the memory at this publication was right around $225 for a 256MB module. While this is no doubt higher than the generic PC133 memory that is available, you must keep in mind the results that were shown on the CAS 3 v. CAS 2 tests. And all the generic memory is CAS 3, you can be sure of that.

Virtual Channel SDRAM is another facet of the memory market that I have yet to delve into. Our own DieU did do some testing with it, which you can see the results of here, but again without personal knowledge of it, I can’t conclude one way or the other about comparing it with Mushkin Enhanced memory.

If you do want highly stable and highly overclockable SDRAM, Mushkin is the way to go. As you can see from reading our System Recommendation Guide, my personal preference is that the performance increases are well worth the extra money invested in CAS 2 memory. Mushkin’s memory is a perfect fit for these conditions. The price may be slightly higher, but in this case, you actually do get what you pay for.
