It’s amazing to see what good a bios flash did for Epox on this test. Prior to my new board and new bios, the 8K7A fell a few frames behind the 7DXR motherboard on this low resolution test. Now the Epox board takes an almost 4% lead (just under 7 frames). I have been trying to figure out how the 32-bit modes are faster on the DDR boards, but to no avail. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know.
The Epox is still able to out perform the Gigabyte board at this high a resolution, even with the extreme bottle neck being set on the GeForce 3 card.
The gains in the Unreal Tournament benchmark are very minimal. Though a gain is still a gain. It’s interesting to see the difference between the Q3A and UT and their differing ability to scale with computer hardware.
