The Numbers and Conclusion

The current approximate retail selling price in US$ and including the Sanyo Denki 80 mm 53 cfm fan that produces 45 dBA’s is $ 79.95 and can be purchased directly from Swiftech or one on their many distributors world-wide.

If it’s a tad to noisy for you, an in-line Rheostat is available (at an additional cost) that will allow you to lower the voltage the fan uses thus lowering the speed and cooling efficiency. It can always be raised if you need the original level of cooling or somewhere in-between.

Let’s take a look at the shocking numbers I attained:

Swiftech MC-462A Rev1
Highest Temp
95F – 35C
Lowest Temp
83F – 28C
Average Temp
90F – 32C

Shocking you say??? Yes, in testing over 30 different HSF’s I’ve never come up with numbers like these!! I was so amazed that after the second day of testing, I installed a probe from my Digital Doc5 just to double check my figures and the numbers still came out the same. The average temperature actually kept bouncing back and forth between 89 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

So much has been written and so much more will be written about the Swiftech MC-462A Rev1. Each writer adds a little more to the picture of this HSF’s fantastic features. What all this means is, if you need/want the very best HSF and have the $80.00 to spend, this is the HSF for you.

Oh yes, disclaimer, I don’t work for Swiftech. I get so enthused when I get the opportunity to work with a product of this quality that I’ve got to put a disclaimer in!!

The MC-462A Rev1 is truly a Work of Art. I know most of the world’s outstanding Art can only be viewed in Museums. If you own a Swiftech MC-462A Rev1 HSF you can see a Work of Art everyday sitting on top of your CPU keeping it COOL!!

Someday, when CPU’s have advanced to the stage where advanced cooling methods are no longer required, you’ll see the Swiftech MC-462A Rev1 in a Computer Museum encased in glass. The only thing missing from this Work of Art is the Artist signature!!

As I stated earlier, I was a Skeptic when I started this study, the Swiftech MC-462A Rev1 has converted me into a Believer by its fantastic performance. Swiftech, you’ve got a great quality product here. Don’t just sit on your laurels, improve upon it!!

To say I like it would be redundant, so I’ll put it into the words often uttered by the wise sage of AMDMB.COM our own Dieu, “Simply the Best”!!

(At least I think that’s what he said. I might have missed a superlative in the translation.)
