In all the SPEC tests here, the Duron Morgan core at 1.2 GHz beats the 1.2 GHz Athlon. Now obvious, the new core features are very beneficial to workstation quality 3D work including rendering and lighting work.

Again, the memory tests between SiSoft and Cachemem are sort of conflicting. While I am still not aware of the reasoning behind it, the Duron does fall considerably behind in the reading category and less so in the writing category of the benchmark.

I think this benchmark is based mostly on memory speed and FPU speed, thus the two processors at nearly identical clock speeds performing the same. Note that the standard Duron at 1.0 GHz is doing well in all these tests, too.
