The only place that the Tyan Tiger MP setup has an advantage is in the purely Math tests, coming in more than 25% faster than the competition. The rest of the tests show the KT266A board tying or barely beating out the AMD-760 MP setup.
These tests are not SMP verified so that explains why the results show the KT266A board coming out on top nearly all the time – sometimes by a considerable margin. While this test doesn’t show you the power of multithread applications, I think the rest of them will give you a better idea.
Take the Cinema 4D test from the CineBench suite. Using a very well made SMP engine, the dual Athlon MP 1800+ processors are ahead by nearly 70%! This is a great improvement and demonstrates the power of SMP when properly applied.
