AMD Duron 1.1 GHz Morgan Core Processor Review - Processors 24

In both of these tests you see that the Duron 1.1 GHz has a modest and expected gain on the performance of the 1.0 GHz model. While the Athlon 1.4 GHz is still ahead by about 15%, you must take the 100 MHz vs. 133 MHz bus speed (and thus memory speed) into account. Once you do that, you can see that both the Durons are performing very well with their memory and total clock speed deficit.

While these numbers are usually even all the way across the board, you can see now that with only a 100 MHz front-side bus, the Duron can’t push the kind of memory needed for all the textures of this size as fast as its 1.4 GHz Athlon brethren. Yet, nearly 90 FPS is nothing to sneeze at in 1600x1200x16 mode!
