Above is a picture of the front of the case with the plastic shroud removed. It’s a simple procedure of just moving plastic tabs so they are not locked down and it comes off. At the lower left is the speaker cutout and on the right bottom is where the optional large front fan would be placed. In the middle is the location of the 80mm fan that sits in front of the hard drives on the left side. Some venting is on the right although I don’t know its purpose. I did notice that there is an alternative location for the buttons and LEDs, but my guess is that is for use with a different front panel design as I know there is more then one.

One feature I do like about this case is the rails for the CD drives. They give you plenty for all three drive bays. Simple screws attach them to the drives (also provided) and simple plug and play function and they are locked in. This is great for a server environment as you don’t want to spend all day swapping CD drives if they die. The rails make it simple especially in a server farm situation. For those that don’t understand the term farm, it is when you have several computers of like design in the same place making it easy to swap parts.

The installation of the motherboard was your standard affair. Neither the fan nor the PSU got in the way of anything. The cdrom install was flawless and easy as with the hard drive. The only quirk of the install that I had was the floppy drive. I had installed the floppy and the hard drive into the cage first while the cage was out of the case, but upon putting it back into the case the floppy was a tight fit and had to be adjusted. I’m sure if I had installed the floppy after the cage’s return to the case it would have been much easier, but at the time of the install I was a little pressed for time. As you can see there is plenty of room in the case for dual Athlon motherboards and even a larger power supply from PS/2 to dual redundant form factors.

The front of the case just snapped back into place and the drives were perfectly mounted and no adjustment to the external drives was necessary to put it back on. Just the way I like it.

With everything installed and the door closed, you wouldn’t even know there was a system setup inside unless you picked up the case or the power was on and the LED was lit up. Chenbro has certainly made a case that is extremely functional, sleek and classy. Chenbro is just what you want in your house.
