3D Mark 2001 and SiSoft Sandra

I can remember when running 3D Mark 2000 and getting these scores was a feat! It’s nice to see that the Athlon XP 2000+ can put a bit more power into this 1024×768 test than it did on the Dronez test. The difference is just a bit lower than 3%, but at lower resolutions I am confident the increase would return.

As you should expect by now, the memory performance is not really affected (at least in these types of synthetic tests) by the increased processor speed. I am still sticking with use the older SE version of the SiSoft Sandra program until I can get some more background in the newer versions that put the DDR memory scores into the near 2000s MB/s.

These numbers fall right into line with the clock speed upgrade. Right under 5%. Simply put: this benchmark scales very well with clock speeds on the Athlon XP.
