SPECviewperf, Cachemem and ScienceMark

A surprise winner for sure, the MSI K7N420 Pro motherboard takes the crown in all four of these SPECviewperf tests. In both the Light04 and the MedMCAD test it wins by a significant 8-9%. The other two are by less than a few percent, but it shows the power of the nForce chipset and what it is capable of.
The Cachemem test shows a very different picture than the SiSoft memory test did. In particular, in the reading memory test, the MSI board falls behind by about 15%! It does however take the lead in the writing test by almost 14%. Each board takes one of these tests to their own corner.
The results on the ScienceMark test are very close – less than 0.5% separates the two combatants. A score of 151 is still shocking, as it was less than 6 months ago that getting about 100 was indeed a big deal!
