The ECS K7S6A does not have a great showing on these professional tests, coming in nearly last on all four tests. On average, the 745 chipset board is about 10% slower than the KT266A chipset and even farther behind the KT333 chipset. The only test here the ECS board can hold its own is the Awadvs04 test that is actually more dependent on the CPU.
The SiS 745 chipset is losing to even the KT266A chipset here, even with the additional 33 MHz on the memory bus. When compared to the Read score of the KT333 chipset, the ECS board is almost 30% slower! That is a larger amount than I was expecting.
Here again we are seeing the SiS 745 board coming up right with the KT266A motherboards, not the KT333 chipset. It’s easy to see what the fastest chipset is for the Athlon processor, but the second fastest one may be more difficult to get from these tests.
