Interestingly, even on the single processor tests, the Tyan Tiger MPX is able to keep up with the faster Athlon XP 2000+ on the Abit motherboard. However, looking at 2-CPU ray tracing test, you can see a 65% gain in speed. If you are doing any kind of development work in programs that utilize the SMP capabilities of dual-processors, this can be a big benefit.
The first diagram shows the breakdown of the scores for each test that was run. Because the Adobe Photoshop program is so difficult to time accurately, each number that was recorded was the average of 5 independent runs of the benchmark – which took a long time! The second graph shows the total scores, with the lower being better, as we are judging time here. A 40% decrease in the time for completion is a great result for the Tyan Tiger MPX motherboard.
