3D Mark 2001 and SiSoft Sandra

As we again see, most of the gaming benchmarks are simply single threaded, meaning they only take advantage of a single processor. There is no denying that on gaming tasks, the MPX chipset is slower than the KT266A chipset and surely the new SIS 745 chipset as well.
I remember when the MP chipset was first released and the numbers we saw were well above anything else the Athlon segment had seen before. With the release of the KT266A chipset a while ago now, the 760 MPX chipset is barely holding up against the raw memory bandwidth of the VIA chipset.
And here we see the first shinning moment for dual-processing power. This CPU benchmark shows the synthetic results for the dual-processing capable SiSoft test. The integer performance doesn’t increase as dramatically as the floating point does – it increased by about 100%!
