AMD Athlon XP 2100+ Processor Review - Processors 24

The performance gains with the new processor are most easily seen in the low resolutions, as demonstrated by the 640×480 tests. There we have the 2100+ coming in about 3% faster than the 2000+ processor. Do note that because we are still using an older (ha!) GeForce 3 card, these numbers would probably show better increases with the new Athlon XP.

The 1024×768 resolution is probably more affected by this video card choice than the lower one. Here we are getting around a 1.5% increase in framerate. Had we been using one of the Ti500 or Ti4600 line of cards, this difference would have surely been greater.

And finally, at the highest resolution, the card controls all the speed of the game and the processors stall out.
