We once again see the problems with running single processor benchmarks on a dual processor machine. SPEC should be releasing a new test with SMP capabilities for graphics programs, so we’ll see what that shows in the future.
This test shows the memory throughput of the KT266A chipset to be much more than that of the AMD-760 MPX chipset. We saw this with the first introduction of the 760 MP chipset as well. Cachemem is reporting purely synthetic numbers that are not SMP capable, but close to what we saw in the SiSoft tests.
While this shows the MSI and Tyan boards losing by a lot here, keep in mind that the single processor board is actually running at 2000+ and the dual processor boards are running 1900+.
