I was very impressed with the performance of the Koolance cases and the cooling capabilities of both cases were excellent.I was expecting the PC2-601 to perform better than the PC2-C due to the larger internal diameter of the tubing, but both cases gave the same results; and this demonstrates that the water flow is not restricted by the diameter of the tubing but by the rating of the pumps; this tells me why Koolance have chosen to use a smaller diameter tubing than its competitors.
Even though the cooling was excellent, the thing that really impressed me was the ability to cool my processor to 32oC while hardly making a noise; but due to the lack of air movement in the case it may be necessary to add a case fan or two because the system temps can rise quite a lot without the use of the Koolance watercooling accessories; this was more apparent with the PC2-C because of the plastic airflow divider.
While I thought that the PC2-C was far too small and lacked the attention to detail that we found with the PC2-601, it would most likely be fine for someone who is only interested in a small mid tower and doesn’t want the larger PC2-601 taking up room on their desk.
Some people may say that the PC2-601 is a little pricey, but I would disagree and priced at £245.00 ($350.00) I would say that it is excellent value for money when you put it up against the PC2-C; the PC2-601 costs about £70.00 ($100.00) more than the PC2-C and I would say that it is well worth spending the extra considering that the case itself is worth at least £70 and the added room that the PC2-601 gives you over the PC2-C is well worth it. I would definitely recommend getting the larger case if you have a medium to large motherboard or need more room for hard drives.
