Testing Setup and System Setup

This article is really a look at a couple of different topics: first, the performance of the 3200+ processor against previous models and the P4 running at 3.06 GHz with HyperThreading and second, the comparison between the nForce2 Ultra 400 and KT600 chipsets for the new 400 MHz FSB processors.In the following graphs, you will see five results for most of the tests. First you will see the Athlon XP 3200+ running on the nForce2 Ultra 400 and the KT600. Then you will see the slightly overclocked Athlon XP 3200+ running at 2.32 GHz on the nForce2 Ultra 400 setup. The Athlon XP 3000+ results were also run on the nForce2 board. Finally, the P4 results are there for comparison. So, basically, all the processor comparison results, the 3200+ stock, the 2.32 GHz overclock and the 3000+ were all run on identical setups. And then, for the chipset comparison, the setups are the same with the obvious exception of the motherboard.
