Hard drive storage has been dropping dramatically for years, and now you can get high quality 60 GB drives for under $75! The Western Digital brand is as solid as any other IDE drive today. The only improvement here might be for the customer to look into the 8MB cache version of this popular hard drive.
CD-RW – ASUS 52x/24x/52x – Priced at $48
Asus has been making attempts to enter other computer segments besides motherboards for quite some time with much success. Their line of CD-ROMs and CD-RWs have found their way into numerous OEM boxes and onto store shelves. With a 52x Write and Read speed, its one of the fastest CD burners around.
Monitor – Samsung 950b – 19″ CRT Monitor – Priced at $120
I have been pushing Samsung monitors for quite some time now, and in fact I have three of them sitting in front of me as I type this. They produce high quality images, are reliable and very, very cost effective. Both their CRT and LCD monitors fit the ideals of a price-performance based system.
Case – Antec Full Tower Case 350W Perf. II – Priced at $63
Antec has been a leader in the case and power supply arena for some time now. Their full tower designs have been very popular among the enthusiasts and the included 350 watt power supply makes this one hell of a deal for a great case.
