Conclusions
Both of these multi-function control panels proved easy to install and setup. Each offers a unique combination of functionality and sophisticated looks. The Aerogate II and Musketeer continue the tradition of high standards and quality products set by Cooler Master.
The stylish Aerogate II with its sleek acrylic over aluminum body, blue backlighted LCD display and chrome features, looks more like a high-tech car stereo than a PC peripheral. And the blue backlighted LCD is easy to read, even at a distance. The fan speed control has a nice feel and although it does not allow stopping the fans, it can slow most fans down to an inaudible speed.
I would like to see Cooler Master add programmable set points and an auto-scan feature to future Aerogate controllers. Having a control knob that sticks out further for easier use and then pushes-in (like the knobs on many car stereos) to allow closing front panel doors would be great.
The Musketeer System Dynamics Detector is a classy little add-on that is certain to give your PC a unique new look and feel. It’s not only fun to observe but useful as well. Sometimes you may not need nor want a bank full of fan control knobs or an array of different temperatures. If so, then the Musketeer offers an elegant solution.
I would like to thank Cooler Master for providing us with these cool products to review! The Musketeer is available now ($49.95 US) and the Aerogate II should be available by mid August ($45.00 MSRP). Check one out at your favorite Cooler Master reseller.
