MSI has been known to include a lot of features on their recent motherboards, and their K8T Neo-FISR model continues this as well.
From this image you can see a lot of what the MSI motherboard has to offer you. They have included two Firewire ports (one of each size), four USB 2.0 ports, a SPDIF connector and a Gigabit network interface. The six-channel audio connectors are there as well as an optical audio interface. The audio on the MSI board is powered by the Realtek ALC655 codec and Realtek also powers the Gigabit LAN. The Firewire is backed by the VIA VT6307 chipset.
Thanks once again to the VIA 8237 south bridge and the Promise PDC20378 chipset, the MSI motherboard features an amazing amount of storage solutions for the user. There are a total of 4 SATA channels, with each having RAID options. The first two are powered by the VIA chipset and the second channels are a result of the Promise chipset – as is the third IDE channel that can be used in conjunction with the Promise SATA channels or independently.
The K8T Neo motherboard also gives you an additional 2 USB 2.0 headers on the motherboard to have up to 4 more USB ports, but there are not any headers for additional Firewire channels.
Included Extras
MSI has included the basics of what you’ll need when setting up your system. There are two Serial ATA cables and two power adaptors for the Serial ATA drives. Two rounded IDE cables and a floppy cable are also included with the regular bout of software. A USB header is included that adds an additional USB port to the computer.
