The CineBench 2003 test suite is a multi-threaded application and thus the P4 gets a nice boost from the inclusion of HyperThreading giving it a 23% boost over the best AMD has to offer.
The Athlon 64 3400+ does much better on this test, which gauges OpenGL software rendering performance. Interestingly, the additional 512 KB L2 cache of the 3200+ does almost nothing for it against the 3000+ processor.
