Scientific: ScienceMark 2.0 Beta
The memory scores for all the Athlon 64 processors are pretty good with the Athlon 64 3000+ finally seeing a hit for losing the 512 KB L2 cache. The P4 out runs them all however with its higher FSB.
Before, the ScienceMark 2.0 Beta tests were one of the few where the Athlon 64 3200+ wasn’t quite up to speed with the P4 3.2 GHz, the 3400+ is now able to take the speed crown on these scientific tests.
The 200 MHz frequency boost gives the 3400+ a nice lead, though again we see the benefit of the 3200+ over the 3000+ in jeopardy.
All four of the AMD processors are able to our pace the P4 here. The Athlon 64 3400+ is proving to be quite a beast in benchmarks.
