Introduction

The Asetek WaterChill CPU/VGA/Chipset Power Kit (KT12A-L30 ½”) includes a dual radiator, (2) 120mm fans, Hydor L30 II pump/reservoir combination, control unit, waterblocks for the CPU, VGA and chipset and all necessary hardware.

WaterChill systems are available as complete kits or you can buy just the individual components.  The kit we will be reviewing today is the WaterChill CPU/VGA/Chipset Power Kit (KT12A-L30 ½’) and supports Intel P4 and AMD Athlon XP, FX and 64 processors.  The package includes a Black Ice Pro dual radiator, two 120mm Papst fans, Hydor L30 II pump, Asetek reservoir, control unit and waterblocks for the CPU, VGA and chipset.

The WaterChill kit came securely packaged in a sturdy plastic box with foam padding, all the way from Denmark.  Asetek has done a good job of insuring the end user will have everything he or she needs to complete the installation.  All of the mounting hardware comes bagged and labeled to help minimize any confusion.

The WaterChill kit uses push-on style hose fittings throughout the system for connecting the various pieces of tubing to all the components.  This style fitting can be easy to use but may restrict the overall coolant flow more than traditional barb fittings.

The WaterChill system is designed to operate under the following environmental conditions.

  • Humidity:             80% (max.)
  • Temperature:    +5ºC to +35ºC (+14ºF to +95ºF)
  • Altitude:              3,000 m (10,000 ft)

All of the components have been selected to work together in a balanced system.  The end user need not worry about selecting the right pump or radiator to go with the waterblocks chosen.  Asetek has taken care of all these details for you.
