Introduction

What we are about to share with you, is the most revolutionary and innovative design concept to come down the pike in many a year, destroying many of the preconceived notions we’ve held in the past.

With the introduction of Lian-Li’s V series of computer enclosures, the mundane world of standard tower cases has been turned on its head, literally, as you’ll see later on.

What we are about to share with you, is the most revolutionary and innovative design concept to come down the pike in many a year, destroying many of the preconceived notions we’ve held in the past.

As radical a change as the V1000 presents, we knew our readers would want to see something that incorporated the standard mods and bells and whistles we have grown accustomed too.

With this purpose in mind, we contacted Hank Baron at www.performance-pcs.com  and asked him what he could do with the V1000. His response was the creation of the Lian-Li PC-V1000 Elite Edition; shown here (the Elite Edition can be modified to suit your particular needs and is not limited to the offering you’ll see here).

The basic Elite Edition of the Lian-Li PC-V1000 consists of the standard case that has been modified with a right panel window (11.125′ (W) x 8.69′ (H)) a 120 mm blow hole in the top of the case fitted with a 120mm Panaflo M series fan and all the wiring being nylon mesh covered in your personal choice of colors.

I chose to add the options you can see in the photo below, a second stealth optical drive bezel, the Silverstone Eudemon Fan Controller, the Lian-Li 6 in 1 Card Reader, a Silver

Mitsumi 3.5′ Floppy Drive and although you can’t see it very well in this photo, a Vandal Resistant Illuminated Power Switch with a red ring (we’ll show you this last item, up close and personal later on). An important note is that when you buy just about any item including those shown above and including fans from Performance-PCs., any and all the cabling is nylon mesh covered (it’s built into the price, so take that into consideration, when you compare prices).

A couple of items I’d like to share with you before moving on is first, I opted for the Lian-Li 6 in 1 card reader, but my new Fuji camera uses the newer XD type of memory and very few card readers can accept it, but the good folks at www.performance-pcs.com had just what the doctor ordered to solve my problem.  The very simple, very inexpensive XD memory adapter, seen below, I just had to show it to you!!

The second item is the Vandal Resistant Illuminated power switch I mentioned earlier, I went to this switch rather than the standard Lian-Li metal switch because I was swapping out the stock fans and going with red LED replacements and the lit ring around the power switch added a nice touch.
