BIOS Features (cont’d)
Processor voltages can be modified up to 1.7v on this BIOS revision.
Setting the FSB termination voltage may increase your likelyhood of a succesful overclock, if you are on the very edge of stability.
Here we see some settings for the AI NOS feature on the Asus motherboard. The overclocks are based on percentages of the FSB, so if you are running at the standard 200 MHz FSB, setting the overclock to 10% will result in a FSB of 220 MHz and similarly increase frequency on the processor. Just like the other manufacturers solutions, however, this is not failsafe and could cause lock ups and instability if you go over the processors threshold.
An interesting BIOS feature here is the ability to get the status of network cables as being correctly plugged in and even getting cable length.
If you happen to have an Engineering Sample processor, the Asus BIOS supports changing the multiplier on it.
Here are the memory timings and adjustments that you can utilize to tweak the DDR2 memory modules.
All of the features that the Asus P5AD2 motherboard offers can be enabled or disabled in this BIOS menu.
Finally, we have temperature, voltage and fan speed monitoring.
