Discrete Graphics: X2, 3DMark and Far Cry 1.1
The Sempron 2800+ K7 core out paces the new Celeron D on both X2 and on 3D Mark 2001.
You might have thought playing Far Cry on this system would have been a worthless gesture, but in fact that turned out to not be the case. At 1024×768, with AA and AF turned off and the in-game settings all at Medium, both systems shell out playable framerates, though the AMD Sempron is doing slightly better. As we raise the resolution a notch, we see the same leveling out occur as the video card becomes the bottleneck.
