Far Cry

Far Cry (Direct X)

On Far Cry 1.1 we are using manual run throughs of Far Cry as well on the Regulator level using God Mode enabled with the DEVMODE cheat to get repeatable results.

We set the in game quality settings as high as they would go, as you can see in the shot below.

For really the first time here we see the X800 Pro card overtaking the performance of the 6800 cards.  The AA6800 card with its 10% overclock does make a noticeable improvement in gameplay, however.

I would call the 1280×1024 resolution without AA and AF enabled playable, but with it, the game can get pretty choppy at times, even on the X800 Pro card that has a noticeable performance boost over the NVIDIA cards.

With the AA6800 overclocked, the 16×12 resolution might be playable to some gamers with nearly a 5 FPS gain over the stocket 6800 card and nearly matching the performance of the X800 Pro.  When we enable 4xAA and 8xAF it is a different story, with min FPS’ hitting the 8 mark, don’t plan on being able to get through much of Far Cry at those settings on any of these cards.
