BIOS Features
The KV8 Pro has a huge arsenal of enthusiast options that are really impressive, much of it thanks to their uGuru chip.
The VIA K8T800 Pro has a AGP/PCI lock. Finally!
The OC Guru section is where you set your system performance settings for RAM, CPU, video, and chipset. From the image above, you can see that the KV8 Pro has an AGP/PCI ratio lock which users have been asking for from VIA chipsets for a very long time. There are also northbridge, southbridge, and for HyperTransport voltage settings. The KV8 Pro also allows you to apply your overclocking options instantly without having to save and restart the computer each time.

One oddity on the Abit KV8 Pro, in the current version of the BIOS there does not seem to be any half multipliers, so you are forced to using whole-number multipliers like 9x or 10x (and not 9.5x). This has some significant implications for those of you wanting to overclock your CPU. However, we have reported this to Abit and they are working on a new BIOS that will enable new multipliers.
The KV8 Pro keeps track of your power cycles.
Interestingly, OC Guru also keeps track of your power cycles. I’m not sure why you would need this information, but I’m sure someone out there uses it otherwise Abit wouldn’t have included it.
Monitor 5 connected fans…
… and all the voltages.
In Abit EQ you can configure your system health monitoring including temperatures, fan speeds, and voltages. This feature goes way ahead of what I’ve seen implemented on other motherboards which only monitor 5 different voltages and one or three fans. Aside from monitoring, Abit EQ also allows you to set the voltage controls for the fan so you can have it as fast or slow as you want.
Other notable areas in the BIOS are the large number of memory settings.
Too bad now that ABIT gone
Too bad now that ABIT gone out of business there no way of updating the motherboard. damn
