Conclusions

The Hyper 48 heatsink fan lives up to Cooler Master’s established reputation for high quality.  The Hyper 48 performs very well, is quiet, easy to install and looks great.  While performance might not seem to match that of Cooler Master’s Hyper 6, the Hyper 48 provides very good cooling with minimal noise.  And the Hyper 48 is slightly smaller, lighter in weight and much easier to install than the Hyper 6.  With its very flexible universal mount, it should fit most motherboards without problems.

Cooler Master wins high marks from this reviewer for finally bundling an excellent fan along with their well made heatsink.  The low speed Delta fan does a great job of providing good performance with minimal noise.   Some users may opt to replace the 92mm Delta fan with a higher flow model and run it off a fan speed controller for maximum cooling versatility.

Final pricing and distribution dates have not yet been finalized but we anticipate seeing the Hyper 48 showing up at Cooler Master retailers in the near future with initial pricing similar to the current Hyper 6 (~$45 USD).

I would like to thank Cooler Master for sending us the Hyper 48 to review.  Thanks!
