pcp_c17_12 – Ultra High End Cards

This is one of the most demanding levels in the game but we will find that it’s limitations lie with the CPU mainly.  In this demo, you are fighting the stories-tall alien spiders with a group of combatants, which in turn use AI and physics making them CPU bound.  The outdoors area is stressful on the GPU, but it is overshadowed.

After blowing up a few of these bad boys, the demo runs away when the teammates are killed and hides in a ditch.  Yes, this is how I play video games.

I skipped all the way down here, sorry.  You can see from the results, starting at 1024×768 0x0x all the way to 1600×1200 4x8x, that the average frame rate only dropped from about 75 FPS to about 60 FPS.  CPU and memory are the bottlenecks here, not your GPU.  But what happens on the slower cards?
