  • Mounting tray and screws
  • Spare 5 Amp fuse (F5A250V)
  • Printed User’s Manual

The PC AirCon consists of two main components.  The first part is a black plastic tray that fits into a spare 5-1/4′ drive bay.  This tray is used to mount the PC AirCon and has a standard 4-pin Molex connector on the back for supplying power to the unit.  A mechanical lock secures the PC AirCon in position and an internal Centronics style connector makes for effortless insertion.

Here is one more picture of the PC AirCon disassembled so you can see the main components in detail.  The hot-side heatsink and fan have been removed completely and the cold-side heatsink has been removed and set aside to expose the lower fan.  The white square object on the heatsink is the thermoelectric cooler.

The control switch located on the right side of the PC AirCon has three positions:

  • Off
  • Cold-side fan only (blows air into the case)
  • Cooling mode (both fans and TEC on)

The LCD displays the temperature of the air exiting the cold-side heatsink before it enters the PC enclosure.  This is the coldest point and the lowest temperature.

The two fans used in the PC AirCon are both 70mm units rated at 4,600 RPM and 37 dBA.  The lower, cold-side intake fan is made by Nidec, while the upper hot-side fan is made by Young Lin Tech.  The upper fan has a clear plastic frame and incorporates blue LEDS, which is what causes the PC AirCon to glow blue during operation.
