Half-Life 2

Half-Life 2 (Direct X)

This was the most anticipated game in PC history, and even with the troubles it has had with Steam, HL2 drives-on as a great game and great benchmark for PC systems.  Below are the default settings we used for our testing today.  Usually we would alter the AA and Filtering modes, but as we are using sub-$100 graphics cards, we are leaving them as is for the majority of our testing.

Though in our high ends tests ATI has dominated on the HL2 front (see our ATI X850XT/PE review as an example), the 6200TC w/ 32 MB is able to out perform the X300 card with four times the local memory.  The 16 MB 6200TC does pretty well too, though I be hesitant to play on any of these three cards at 1024×768.  The gaming experience at 800×600 was much more consistent and enjoyable.
