Gaming: Quake III and UT 2003
In Quake III we see one of the few gaming applications that takes advantage of the additional memory bandwidth that the two Intel motherboards provide. And though the difference between 570 and 498 frames per second may seem high, Q3 now stands as much more a synthetic test than anything else.
In Unreal Tournament 2003 the tides shift dramatically in favor of AMD’s processor and platform structure, with the 4000+ just beating the pants off the Intel 3.46EE processor.
Let’s see how these test setups perform in more modern games though…
