BIOS Features (cont’d)
Another interesting addition to the Abit motherboard’s BIOS includes this information on the systems power cycles. Here you can get all kinds of data on PC up time as well as hard and soft resets.
Inside the Abit EQ menu of the BIOS, Abit has a lot of system monitoring that can be useful for the hardcore enthusiast.
Temperature monitoring is done at up to six separate places and you have the ability to force a shut down or just an alarm with temperature settings here.
Voltages are monitored at ten locations! You again have the options for setting alarm and shut down options within a certain voltage limit.
Finally for the EQ section, Abit has fan monitoring done at the five fan headers. Note that only one of the fan headers is open for use and the others are required for motherboard.
Here are the memory timing options in the Advanced Chipset menu. There aren’t a lot of different memory settings here, but as DDR2 is still fairly new on the market, this isn’t surprising. The major timings are included here such as CAS latency, RCD and RPT.
Finally, all the on-board features can be found in one of these four menus to either be enabled or disabled, depending on your specific system setup.
