Synthetic Gaming – 3DMark, Aquamark 3
Before we delve into the gaming related benchmarks, I need to remind you that the following tests are done on three different systems with three different graphics cards. So not only are you going to see differences in platform performance, it will also include variations in video performance.
So this is not a straight-forward comparison.
Chaintech V915P (i915P) – Pentium 4 560E, 1GB DDR
Intel i915P with DDR2 – Pentium 4 560E, 1GB DDR2
VIA K8T800 Pro – Athlon 64 3200+ (754 pin), 1GB DDR
NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra400 – Athlon XP3200+, 1GB DDR |
Chaintech V915P (i915P) – Pentium 4 560E, 1GB DDR
Intel i915P with DDR2 – Pentium 4 560E, 1GB DDR2
VIA K8T800 Pro – Athlon 64 3200+ (754 pin), 1GB DDR
NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra400 – Athlon XP3200+, 1GB DDR |
Looking at the results of these synthetic game benchmarks, we can see that the older DDR technology on the Chaintech V915P nearly matching the other 915P system using DD2. These results would imply that the Chaintech Zenith V915P will run very similarly to the DDR2 configuration in real-world games.

Here in Aquamark we see different results: the Chaintech Zenith V915P falls a bit behind the DDR2 915P system, even though they’re identically configured. This would go in contrast to what we saw in 3DMark where the DDR2 memory made little difference. So let’s get onto real-world games and see what the real story is.
