Overclocking and System Setup
Overclocking
Overclocking on the Asus CT-479 Pentium M adaptor turned out to be quite a great experience. With the newer BIOS that allowed for increasing the CPU voltages above the 1.308v level, we had a much better chance of pulling the extra juice out the test processor in our lab.
In our previous two Pentium M reviews, I was able to overclock this Penitum 755 to 2.4 GHz, but on the Asus CT-479 I was able to up the FSB to 130 MHz result in a 2.6 GHz operating frequency and a 260 MHz memory bus. That gives the default 2.0 GHz processor a 30% overclock!
You’ll see how that compares to other processors performance wise in just a few pages.
System Setup
We kept the system setups as close as possible for the best comparative results. We ran the DIF 855GME motherboard in DDR333 memory speeds and AGP 4x speeds, as required by the chipset.
