These much more modern games show a better picture of what SLI is going to do for the end user.  Without AA enabled, the SLI system sees a 60% or so increase in the average frame rate on Doom 3, and with AA enabled at 4x, that gain moves up to almost 80%!  Far Cry only sees a 15% gain at 1600×1200 with no AA and AF enabled, but sees a much better 33% gain in performance with the image quality turned up. 

It should be noted that these scores are still lower than what you are going to get on a similarly decked out AMD system — there is simply no getting around the fact that AMD processors are the best there are for hardcore gamers.
