Well, that’s not exactly true, else I’d have a whole lot more content up on the site! My Budget GPU Comparison article is online and I compare NVIDIA’s 6200 TurboCache cards against ATI’s X300 SE HyperMemory card. In the end, the real winner is going be the GeForce 6600 and ATI X700 cards — I just can’t recommend the ultra-budget cards to anyone that is actually going to be playing games on their system.
I will have my Asus P5ND2-SLI Deluxe motherboard review up either Monday or Tuesday of next week, so you may see your first nForce4 SLI Intel Edition review right here at PCP. There appears to be another “preview” processor release coming up this Monday as well, and once again, just as with the Intel XE 840 processor, I was left out if it. In other news, I am in the process of building myself a P4 system; a first in many years. While using my system yesterday (based on the Athlon 64 3800+) I got very aggrivated by the slowness I felt during my very, very heavy multitasking. I was editing in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, with CuteFTP running, files being copied from my camera to the hard drive, had Outlook open (it was the slowest I’d ever seen it) and had lots of IE windows up among other things. It was painfully slow at times, and I am going to finally give in and see if the many claims I have been told of the P4 with HyperThreading being “faster” are true. I would have liked to just upgrade to an AMD dual core processor to see if this helped, but those CPUs are still a ways off.
I am going to head up to see the house today, apparently they have already installed doors, cabinets and hardwood floors! I’ll be sure to bring some pictures back. Have a great weekend!
