In calculating 8MB worth of pi, the ASRock K8 Combo-Z is the slowest of the bunch. These results are similar to the computational tests from ScienceMark on the previous page.
In DVD to DiVX encoding we see a tangible difference in using an FX-53 CPU over the Socket 754 3200+. By swapping CPUs, encoding time for 12 minutes of DVD was cut by more than 1 minute, which translates into a 15 minutes improvement for a 2-hour movie.
Even with a FX-53 CPU installed, it only performs marginally better than the VIA K8T800 Pro using the S754 3200+.
