Installation

Mounting the Cooler Master Hyper 6+ HSF requires access to the backside of the motherboard to install the universal backing plate.  For this review I used the stock, steel AMD K8 backing plate.  Once the backing plate is in position behind the motherboard the Hyper 6+ can be carefully set on top of the CPU (after properly cleaning the heatsink base and CPU, and applying thermal compound of course).

The heatsink is then firmly secured with two machine screws.

Once the Hyper 6+ is securely mounted the fan can be installed with the included screws.  You can mount the fan on either of two sides depending on the orientation of the heatsink in your particular setup and the desired direction of airflow.
