FEAR SP Demo (Direct X)
One of the most impressive games of E3 2005 is turning out to be one of the most graphically intense as well. Even with the 7800 GTX and X1800 XT I didn’t find the game playable at 1600×1200 with all the details turned on:
The single player demo’s opening map served as our testing point.
One note: NVIDIA is saying that the performance of their parts on the demo is going to differ greatly from their performance on the final version of the game. We’ll keep you updated when the game is available!
NVIDIA’s 7800 GTX falls behind by a considerable margin here on the FEAR SP Demo. If what NVIDIA is claiming is true, as soon as FEAR is released to retail we’ll make an update in a seperate article with new results. For now, it looks like ATI does indeed have an advantage in this new, performance beast of a game.
And for once, even the XL card is able to keep up; at least when AA and AF are turned on that is.
