At the request of some of our readers, I have included results from the latest 3DMark benchmarks even though it slightly goes against the take on real world gaming. For a completely new architecture though, it can give us some valuable information on the possibilities for the X1000 series.
We were also able to compare a total of ten different cards here instead of the three on our game play graphs.
The X1800 XT holds a comfortable lead in the gaming tests here while the XL card struggles to keep up with the 7800 GT.
In the pixel shader test, the 24 pixel pipes of the 7800 GTX and the 20 of the GT model put the 16 pipes of both the X1800 XT and XL to shame. Vertex shading is a different story though as both architectures use 8 vertex pipes and the ATI cards are clocked MUCH higher. Finally, at the fill rate level, the only interesting aspect is that the X1600 and X1300 cards are way to low and this explains a lot of the performance issues we saw.
