Gaming: Doom 3, Far Cry and 3DMark05
I ran the default timedemo, ‘timedemo demo 1’, three times on each resolution and quality setting, and took the average of the second and third scores. We ignored the first one as it was always much slower than the following ones as the game was caching textures off the hard drive.
This is a custom demo we use in various PCP articles, run three times and average the second and third iterations.
All of these gaming tests were done with a single graphics cards, so performance differences should not be large as we are still using a x16 PCIe slot on both the A8N32 and the standard A8N.
And that is what we see — the A8N32-SLI has only a slight lead in performance probably due to a more tuned BIOS.
