3DMark05
At the request of some of our readers, I have included results from the latest 3DMark benchmarks even though it slightly goes against the take on real world gaming. For a completely new architecture though, it can give us some valuable information on the possibilities for the X1000 series.
We were also able to compare a total of ten different cards here instead of the three on our game play graphs.
Single card performance shows that the 7800 GTX 512 is the new performance king beating out the X1800 XT that had the top spot for only a few weeks. And as you might guess, a pair of them in SLI mode just crushes the competition.
The results are pretty much as I expected here, as NVIDIA kept its pixel shader test performance lead. In the vertex shader test the X1800 XT still has a slight lead over the 7800 GTX 512 MB card because of the similar vertex pipelines and a higher clock speed (at 625 MHz). In our fill rate test, the 7800 GTX 512 MB increases the NVIDIA lead with a much higher clock speed over the 7800 GTX standard.
