Battlefield 2 (Direct X)

Battlefield 2 is one of the first games to come along in quite a while that turned out to really push the current and even following generation gaming hardware.  Having the privelege of being the first game that might need 2 GB of memory is either a positive or negative, depending on your viewpoint.  Here are our IQ settings used:

Our map was the Strike At Karkand that turns out to be one of the most demanding in the retail package in terms of land layout, smoke and other shader effects.

The 7800 GTX 512 MB makes quite an impression with Battlefield 2 compared to the 7800 GTX and the X1800 XT; a 24% average FPS increase over the competition and 10+ FPS higher on the minimum frame rate.

With the 100 FPS cap built into the BF2 game all three setups perform pretty well here, including the single and SLI 512 MB 7800 GTX.  The only disadvantage the 7800 GT has is a lower minimum FPS.
