Now let’s take a look at the 8NPA SLI’s ability to do some serious number crunching. ScienceMark, which performs some general scientific computations, shows the EP-8NPA just behind the other Socket 754 boards but with two of the three tests the slowest of all systems tested. Let’s see if this trend continues in SuperPi.
SuperPi computes pi to a specified number of significant digits. In this case we’re computing 8MB of numbers or over 8-million digits of pi. This time the EPoX EP-8NPA does well by beating out the VIA K8T800 Pro by a small margin, but it is still not quick enough to catch the SiS 760GX.
