Seoul – Dec. 5, 2005 – At a ceremony attended by Dae-je Chin, Ph.D.,
Korean Minister of Information and Communication, and Hector Ruiz, AMD
chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer, AMD today
announced the opening of Korea Technology Development Center, a research
and development resource for local customers and partners to create
low-power, high-performance embedded processor platforms for advanced
digital consumer devices.

Located at AMD Korea headquarters in Seoul, the Korea Technology
Development Center (KTDC) will be led by HB Kim, with expansion of
engineering resources planned by the end of 2006. AMD expects to help
customers develop customized embedded processor platforms for various
digital consumer devices including WiBro terminals, Digital Media
Broadcast solutions, Personal Media Players, HDTV, and Internet access
solutions.  The center will focus on helping local partners reduce costs
and accelerate time-to-market when developing next-generation digital
consumer devices based on AMD embedded processors.
